In this case, I expect that the market is due to tank for real soon, so that would maybe be a stupid move, but it seems like in general someone could literally trade on the perception that they’re an insider (regardless of whether they have real inside information or not) to manipulate the market in their favor.

I’m not a lawyer, but from my understanding there’s actually no legal obligation for them to delete US citizens’ data. They generally delete it anyways to avoid creating backlash that would lead to regulation, though.

Well, there’s a few aspects of it. If they push it, it could make my experience worse (This tends to happen with any service that’s pushing AI). I also consider it to be highly unethical, so it lowers my opinion of their ethics (not that it’s high to begin with) and makes me more likely to protest them on ethical grounds. After all, I’m here now instead of Reddit for similar reasons.

That seems like a quick way to get me to cancel my Spotify subscription.
