121·5 months agoAs a road user, I accept that I might have to slow down or stop for other road users - car drivers, pedestrians, or cyclists, that this is normal, and a part of driving, cycling, or walking.
People getting cross about this simple fact is really weird, if you think about it.

232·6 months agoI’m not sure it’s good for Linux to attract disgruntled windows users. It would be better to attract people who actually want to use an OS that is different to Windows, rather than ones that just want a Windows that works. Linux is not a version of Windows.

9·6 months agoApparently it’s about reducing shift changes, which is when most mistakes happen. You would have to hope that someone has done research into mistakes caused by fatigue vs. mistakes caused by shift changes.

4·6 months agoSomeone told me that the reason for 12 hour shifts is that most medical mistakes and accidents happen because of shift changes. Reducing the number of shift changes from 3 to 2 results in fewer mistakes, despite longer working hours.

I remember the days before hardware random number generators, when pseudo random number generators caused fuck ups by not actually being random. Now people are re-inventing the stupid way of doing it with AI.
