It’s shorthand for “we sold this particular home for 1.02m over (more than) the initial asking price!”
It’s advertising that it’s a hot market and this realtor will get you a ton of money, even more than you will initially ask for. Probably due to multiple bidders.
To this day, the boomers in my life tell me that “freight trains in the US are the envy of the world.” Ok, great, but it would be nice if it was usable in daily life
I think that’s exactly what that person is saying though. There is plenty of opportunity for good public infrastructure, but bad policy and auto lobbies have prevented them from happening. A good example is how most neighborhoods are not allowed to be located with businesses/shops/restaurants, and vice versa. This simple change would make so much more of the country more walkable
The point isn’t that it’s making fun of people for being poor, it’s making fun of the poor voting against their own interests and then insulting others along the way for some reason

In the image itself, it directly calls it a “profit motive,” not just a general motive. I figured you may have missed that by mistake, wasn’t trying to be rude.
Then the rest the of the post implies that these other people are able to do stuff without a profit motive, though yes it doesn’t state they have other motives i suppose? But i think that’s the point
I do believe this was the message that was intended to be conveyed by the post itself
None of the names are legible and the front two are both showing a one star general ranking.

It has its ups and downs. I actually enjoyed the Miami vice season and the 2 after, though they’re admittedly weaker. Then there’s 3 … odd seasons. Once that concludes it basically goes back to normal and is worth watching. Not nearly as strong as before but it’s still pretty funny
Abruptly cancelled at the end of season 14, talks of a revival are happening but tbd
While i understand and agree with the premise, i think it’s lacking context. It is quite disturbing to have an obscure conversation (you know, we’ve never been to tahiti), and suddenly you’re getting banner ads or sponsored results about trips to tahiti.
This is absolutely a thing that happens. It happens to my wife frequently (the amount of times i hear giggling, i was just talking about that! Now I’ve got an ad! What a coincidence!), but i disabled all my google permissions (outside of location for maps), so it doesn’t seem to happen to me at all.
I don’t think every company does this, but some do. I also had to uninstall WhatsApp because my microphone usage was up while i was sleeping. That was quite concerning to discover. Whatsapp claims it’s a bug, but I’m not sure about that.
