Technology@lemmy.world•Spotify Execs Bet People Will Pay for AI-Generated MusicEnglish
4·2 months agoI’ll be honest. I listen to a lot of ambient/EDM while working, and I probably wouldn’t even notice if they started slipping AI content in, and probably wouldn’t be curious enough of the time to look into it.

30·3 months agoYeah, we’ve definitely been seeing diminishing returns with the latest frontier models. I think that’s why when GLM and Kimi come in at 1/5 the price of Opus but are just as good, or when Deepseek comes in at 1/10 the price and is catching up quickly, they have to worry. There may be nowhere for them to go.

2·3 months agoThat’s weird. I’m running FF with noscript and ublock origin and am able to read it. But anyway to answer your question it looks like they will have basic and premium user/group types, with the latter being paid.
The Matrix. John Wick. Dune. Get the original directors on board for the remakes. The possibilities are endless.

6·4 months agoI think if there were real trillions of value being created by AI you’d hear more of them getting on board with UBI. But since they know it’s all make-believe they don’t want to stir the pot, just keep things going long enough to cash out at a high valuation.

I’m just another internet rando, but I did get this exact email on my work account maybe 2 weeks ago. I thought it was so clever I didn’t even forward it to our cybersecurity team.

Technology@lemmy.world•F.D.A. Blocked Publication of Research Finding Covid and Shingles Vaccines Were SafeEnglish
69·5 months agoThis is beyond insane. Besides all the usual reasons, the shingles vaccine was recently demonstrated to be the single most effective deterrent to Alzheimer’s and dementia, reducing the risk by something like 20%. I can’t believe that an older MAGA would be any more excited about getting dementia than a normal person.

True, a narrow reading would be “if you tell the machine to do X and it does X, X should be attributed to you”.
A more broad reading (which I think is the right one, but I’m not holding my breath over since it’d tank the economy) is “if you build a machine that can conceivably do X, and then without anyone doing anything else, it does X, X should be attributed to you.” I agree that the quote from the FTC chair seems more like #1 than #2, but one would have to draw the line somewhere.
