Im sure they will slap that label on it but no, its just a modernization and increased aggressiveness of existing “digital wellbeing”.

I do wish Immich would add some social features

They are succeeding in my area.

I’m very happy I built a PC between the crypto mining craze and COVID and AI scam…

I don’t know if spending unfathomable amounts of money buying up the entire global supply of computing products can be considered a “tool”.

Maybe learn how things work before going on a rant.

Traditional hydraulic systems already have independent wheel control. This is absolutely the opposite of “improved safety”. You’re relying entirely on a complex electrical system that can exhibit a wild myriad of errors that could result in death. And for what? What do you get in exchange?
Braking wastes energy by converting mechanical energy to heat.
There’s nothing in this article to suggest that these do not.
Brake wear and fail.
Most of all ones dependent on electronics.

There’s nothing here to suggest that there are no pads or rotors…

This is way more moving parts and cost and complexity. When it comes to safety and reliability you want things as simple as possible, and this is the opposite of that.

I’ll take $450 in my pocket every 6 years, thanks. The bigger savior is not having your wheels constantly caked in brake dust.

Brembo’s new “Sensify” braking system takes that one step further, eliminating the hydraulic system entirely and relying instead purely on electronic brake-by-wire and electric motors.
ok but…y tho?

That’s incorrect, leaving the platform is the best answer.
Secondarily there is alternative frontends like Stealth, Libreddit and Troddit.

Nah “we” made it complicated in the pursuit of money.

My car has voice commands but it can’t even do simple tasks like turning on the headlights or wipers, and requires an active internet connection to do anything at all, so yeah, its fuckin useless.
Meanwhile my phone can dictate entire paragraphs with no internet connection at all.
LOL I’m sure their investors believe them.

The block seemed curious, given that Reddit began as a website, and websites generally want traffic. Few are in the practice of turning traffic away.
My man hasn’t used the internet in a while…
The vast majority of social media platforms are in the practice of denying access in order to coerce you into logging in or downloading their app so that they can mine your data and harass you into coming back.
Some of that probably has to do with AI scraper bots as well.

Fake mustaches 🤣
This is just the most ridiculous mockery of how terrible this legislation is.

Yeah that incident was also due to a phone number issue. Someone somehow had the name associated with the phone number saved incorrectly. Something to do with iOS and how it saves numbers automatically.
