That is exactly how I define a great nap as an adult. The more disoriented I wake up, the better.

This could have been lifted from a Neal Stephenson book.

Lecture - it’s actually an audiobook of The Origin of Consciousness in the Breakdown of the Bicameral Mind, but that’s an impulse diversion from a lecture series called The Hebrew Bible by Dr. Joel Baden
The two are more related than I thought they would be.
If you’re into consciousness and its origins and what it is and why we sometimes think it’s god, origin of consciousness is a great read. Not necessarily correct, but insanely interesting.

Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•If the United States saw what the United States is doing in the United States, the United States would invade the United States to liberate the United States from the tyranny of the United States
7·22 days agoHalf of that statement rests on a completely made up version of what the US, and has been for a while, to the world.
In real fact it’s only true to the extent that there is an opportunity to exploit resource extraction in the US, which informs a large part of the US’s view of any given country’s democratic health.
So maybe, but not for the reasons everyone wants to think.
I look good.
I mean, I’m not like fashionable or anything, but I’m certainly not goofy.
Then why did I reply? - is a question I will be pondering thoughtfully and humbly for a bit.
