Are you using a time machibe to access Amazon in the past? Because for me the experience looks more like this:

1. I type in “amazon.com” in my browser
2. I use the search bar and get a bunch of sponsored results that are not what I was searching for at all and all use the same garbage photoshopped photos
3. I scroll through pages upon pages of irrelevant dropshipped garbage offered by companies like JHUVOY, BRILGOVA and other random letters.
4. I finally find something that looks like it’s not a cheap knockoff
5. I add it to my shopping cart and click through offers for Amazon prime and offers for dropshipped garbage that I might want to add to my cart.
6. I proceed to payment

Sigh, I really miss the old internet, I truly do…

I’m a simultaneous interpreter, and it’s a bloodbath out there. Partially because anyone who needs a translator or an interpreter by default is unable to verify the accuracy of the translation/interpretation - they can only tell if it’s smooth, believable, and such. And, AIs are great at being believable even when they make shit up…

It’s completely insane to me that businesses deal with it without suing their butts off. I can understand individual customers, they tend to be docile, but how did all this not cause massive losses to a litigious company yet?

Jesus fucking Christ, is Windows just 100% vibe coded now? How do those fuckups keep happening? It’s honestly unbelievable…

I’m so glad I decided to move away from it - I still have no idea what I’m doing in Linux, but then again I never had a lot of idea about what I’m doing in Windows either, so it’s all good :)

Come on UK, just skip all the boring parts and make unremovable collars for everyone fitted with GPS, cameras and miniature bombs that can be remotely detonated. After all, that’s the only way to make sure nobody is doing bad, very bad illegal stuff and to PROTECT THE CHILDREN, isn’t it? Fucking hell, these fucks really are trying to create a bloody dystopia…

It’s absolutely not okay, but since there will be no negative consequences for it whatsoever, it’s the new normal. This is sadly what happens when laws are not enforced, and I’m not sure if anything even can be done anymore…

Exactly - such labels would be ignored even more than the ones on cigarettes are, especially by the addicts. And it’s so much easier to completely hide them too - adblockers already hide a lot of content people don’t want to see, this would just become another line in the filter list so fast…
