I am doing that for friends and family. For now Windows is the default in Grub. Most are trying out Linux and like it.

If they have to label it “100% real cheese,” what does that say about what’s normally in there? Not exactly building consumer trust here.

252·1 year agoA number of the questions are impossible for “regular users” to answer. 32 bit or 64 bit system? Isolated spaces?
Just recommend Ubuntu or Mint. That’s it. We can figure out other distros later if necessary.
For a proper plate of pasta you should at least get +40. If you cooked it yourself maybe even +1 skill point. If you fed someone, “you are now friends”.

Game performance on Linux isn’t always the best. So I’ll keep a Win10 around.
Are Linux ports of games so hard to do? Genuine question. I am not a games dev.

1·1 year agoSure. You can still be profiled, though. That can open doors for discrimination or other unsavory agendas. One also loses a measure of anonymity. Users don’t clearly see how and know that they are tracked, meaning there’s a loss of transparency.
It’s not just about ads.
