I’ll admit it’s not the worst example taken in isolation, but for heaven’s sake it’s a Jag. It is very likely the ugliest Jaguar ever made.

There’s some truth to this, and we probably will never have the energy density of batteries that gasoline has, but EV’s do have the advantage of having all their weight in the bottom of the car, so they tend to handle a lot better than you’d expect from the weight. Anything you lose on the corners you make up in the straights.
For example, the Tesla Model S Plaid ($89,990) set a 1:27.78 lap time at Willow Springs (Big Willow), beating the BMW M5 CS ($142,000) at 1:28.76 by 0.98 seconds.

I wouldn’t call them beautiful, but yes they are at least passable (except the older ioniq 6’s- don’t like the looks of them). I mean the best of them like the Mazda simply look like average ICE sedans. But it’s sad to see so many manufacturers with track records of making beautiful cars like Audi, Ferrari, and now Jaguar pumping out completely fugly EV’s. I just don’t get it. This is one area Tesla did pretty well. Pity Elon owns it. The one cheaper EV I actually like the looks of is the Smart #1, specifically the grey and red Brabus edition.

I’m actually pretty impressed with how cheap EV’s are becoming. The ioniq 3 at €28k is a great deal, and Smart just announced their tiny #2 ev at €20k.

What are you talking about? EV’s have been blowing doors on ICE cars on this metric for a while. A $44k MG 4 Xpower has a better power to weight ratio than a $122k Porsche 911, and beats it off the line by .3 seconds.

Even the new Audi Q2 Etron they are rolling out in 2027 is horrendous. I thought I could trust Audi to make a normal decent looking car, but no. Not any more.

Do EV’s have to be ugly? Are they doing this on purpose so you don’t buy them? What’s going on here?

Exactly. They aren’t interested in actual discussion, just trolling. Depriving them of the audience for which to do so is the only practical solution.

I only block tankies and the biggest of assholes.

I know that is the case today. But hardware and software will improve and the task sets they will be capable of will grow.
Are you using Qwen? Where do you find it useful/not useful?

AI will live on but maybe as open weight models running on your laptop. There is no reason to believe that the cloud model is the only possible way for this to work. And there’s only so long that any company can lose billions of dollars a year.

Seems like that’s for the Ai features only, but you get to keep the software?

Then just write it yourself, problem solved.

Ever considered reading the code it produces?

Very curious how battery life compares to BLE trackers, because it would need to be pretty significant to justify the extra work.
As we have a box we store our bins in when not on the curb and NFC’s being possible to read at 1-2m, I wonder if that’s not a better solution. Then you only need to power the reader.
I was fully expecting him not to be there. Thanks for being kind OP.
In the days of olde when knights were bold and condoms not invented, a sock was placed upon the cock and babies were prevented.
I have literally stored this rhyme in my head from a BBS post I saw in the '80s when I was 12 completely unused until now when it all came together for this faboulous moment.
After the first check of the nog levels I thought it has a minute left max. I was very impressed.
