The third one was mostly ruined by the fact that Sofia Coppola couldn’t act. The scenes between her and Andy Garcia were verging on painful to watch. But yes, the bits of the film that were about Michael were good, actually.

One makes hideous sounds when I try to play it as a musical instrument, and the other I can play reasonably competently.
The branding of ploughman’s lunch was invented in the 60s but that same Wikipedia page states it had been a common meal for rural labourers for centuries.

291·1 month agoI studied poetry, painting, and music so that my sons could study mathematics and commerce, and their sons could work long hours on the assembly - without having ever studied anything - so that they can consume slop generated by AI that was pushed on everyone by people who studied commerce, created by people who studied mathematics, and trained on the works of those who studied poetry, painting, and music.
Come on now, OP. What ever other criticism you may level at that sandwich, you can’t say that cheese and raw onion is lacking in flavour.

Technology@lemmy.world•Mathematics disproves Matrix theory, says reality isn’t simulationEnglish
3·4 months agoUm, why? As a general rule, the point of running a simulation is to find out what happens under some circumstances where you don’t know what happens. If you’re imposing conditions like that, then you aren’t so much running a simulation as you are running some kind of procedural generation.

2·5 months agoThe Posse Comitatus Act makes using troops to enforce federal law illegal, it’s true, and the UCMJ does say violating the law is an illegal order. But it’s not unconstitutional, and given the order came directly from the president and given the “unitary executive” bullshit that the supreme court has been on recently, I think it might be dubious that the LA ruling would survive an appeal that made it to the supreme court.

So help me God.
The supreme court seems to bear out that Trump’s orders are constitutional and legal, and therefore they are following legitimate orders.
The problem isn’t that they are traitors, the problem is that they aren’t, but they should be.
