I said Tesla Takedown Protests starting to spread not sales boycott starting to spread. This is a specific protest movement that started in the US and is primarily still clustered in the US but now increasingly growing outside it. Please don’t twist the words I’m saying
The first Tesla [Takedown] Protest occurred in Tucson, Arizona

>And here’s where it look like now where you can see more within Europe alongside more within the US

Tesla takedown protests are happening across the US and starting to spread outside of it too!

California got a state law to enforce net neutrality in 2018. This is a good part of what limited the damage of Trump overturning it the first time

Assuming everything is doomed to fail is exactly what Trump and Musk want from you. They want you to stop fighting or trying because you might realize they are weaker than you think. Don’t do their work for them

131·11 months agoThe state and local is where most of the progress is going to happen in the next 4 years. They control a lot more than you think - even including running elections for federal office. Pay attention to all your local elections - they are going to matter a lot
EDIT: While I’m here, going to mention there are local elections in some localities across the US tomorrow (feb 25th) in parts of California, Connecticut, Iowa, Illinois, Kansas, & Maine
Here’s a substack post with more info about those local elections

That’s not what they are doing right now
I’m also going be real that this is also the least of my concerns for a platform. If they make some people change their handle that don’t need to, it really isn’t a massive deal in the grand scheme of things. Especially since when handles are changed on Bluesky, all the references to that handle also change because they have a constant ID for all accounts. Impersonations leading people to scams is a much larger issue
? Did you read what the article? The change here is pretty minor and just reserving the @name.bsk.social if they verify with a domain to something like @domain.tld
Now, users that verify their account by linking their domain name get to automatically keep the default @username.bsky.social username
