Subnautica makes underwater both terrifying and cozy at the same time. Wonderful game exploring the force of nature that is water!

Should I play this game? I’ve avoided it because it seemed like work.

You know what I’m talking about: “Gather this many sticks to make this bigger stick and it’ll all deteriorate if you don’t bind it with glue crafted from hot piss and gum! Oh and there’s a time limit. Survive!”

Is it that or actually fun and immersive?

I’m usually in the same boat, dead sick of survival builders, but Subnautica is fantastic. The ocean is so varied and beautiful that harvesting resources never feels like a chore, and seeing the bioluminescent alien fish swim in the moonlit sea at night is joyous.

It goes on sale pretty regularly for <$10, I reccomend you pick it up and play it blind, and refund it if it isn’t your cup of tea.

I started it a long time ago on Xbox and got distracted by other games (cough, Destiny 2, cough). To be clear, I didn’t mind what I briefly played.

Maybe I’ll try it on the Playstation 5 Pro. Maybe I’ll watch some YouTube videos first. I like games that pull me in and keep me in their world for a long time. Any suggestions?
