Do people in Ireland use pagers?

The original stories about this said Hamas used pagers because of security concerns or something? (Like a phone app could have spyware or whatever.)

Hezbollah, not Hamas. Israel is known for its development of smartphone infiltrating tech. If cops try to break into your phone, they are likely to use something like Pegasus from NSO group, an Israeli firm.

And pagers are still used, mostly in medical settings. My partner works at a hospital and sometimes has multiple pagers (they issue ones for individuals & also for rotating duties)

you’re looking for too much logic here.

He’s calling for a terrorist attack on Ireland because they aren’t supporting the genocide he likes. It doesn’t really matter what words he couches it in, or how realistic the attack vector would be, he wants Israel to murder innocent civilians because they don’t support Israel murdering innocent civilians.

I and a lot of other people working in hospitals still use pagers. A lot of the equipment and shielding for things like x-rays end up making mobile networks unreliable in large buildings like hospitals. So pagers are still pretty standard for a lot of healthcare workers.
