Honest take: We’re trying to keep it going on fedinsfw, but it’s rough. We lost a ton of the OC posters that were also active users on lemmy when lemmyNSFW died, and now it’s dwindled to just five or six of us over there popping up like floaty toys in a little swimming pool filled with OF agency accounts. The audience community has barely recovered as well; engagement is a fraction of what it was (and borderline overtly hostile to male/trans content) and that makes it really rough to get new people in, let alone build a culture that keeps those new people around to post. There’s a few regulars and they’re wonderful - but even if you’re not commenting, people just browsing and upvoting does a lot to encourage the posters.

Might be a little harsh, but the bottom line is if people want more topical content ya’ll gotta help put in the work to keep it fun for the people making the OC.
