LibreOffice is based on OpenOffice but OpenOffice is basically abandoned with every few updates or improvements over a good handful of years now. LibreOffice is generally seen as the successor and I wouldn’t be surprised is OpenOffice just gets archived.

I just sum it up to a failure of capitalism . The fact that two companies have so much power over this without having to pass any laws or legislation is really the worrying part. Also there are not many competitors to Matrix. Just XMPP for the most part. SimpleX and Signal are not good at supporting chat rooms with large amounts of people. Telegram does it okay but isn’t decentralized.
You know there are always outliers because research often looks at populations in general and not the exact experience of a specific person. Unless it’s a case study but that’s different.
