I live in Australia where this has already been rolled out. I used a sample licence they said “Sam s sample” and had a picture of Mr bean. It worked first try.

It was a big and very busy pub so we had both glassy and bar back. Usually that’s the same person but we needed multiple people just constantly clearing the floor and washing glassware, and a couple people restocking the bar and changing kegs.
I used to manage a pub, and I hired an 18 year old chavy kid as a glassy and this is how he talked to me. Ngl, it felt pretty cool. I liked talking to him.

1·1 year agoI wasn’t able to get anything Google to work with Sonos. I originally had Spotify but cancelled when I couldn’t afford a bunch of subscriptions, and switched to my local stores music - which Google also refused to cast easily.

3·1 year agoWhen they removed the ability to listen to my local music library from the app I started looking for alternatives. Seemingly perfectly timed for the app to shit itself.
I found BubbleUPnP. It can cast to all of my Sonos and my Google assistant speaker with zero issues and can play from Plex, my phone’s local library, and my NAS. Highly recommend. Three free version is usable but paid is only $7 and I no longer need the Sonos app.

People here are complaining about another device to carry around, android phones not having enough storage, streaming being better etc.
There are programs and apps to stream your own. I have a nas (network attached storage) where I keep my music. It came with a music player and a mobile app out of the box that can stream and cast my collection. Plex can also do it quite easily. I’m sure there are others too.
