Turns out typing “gem” in the settings search is not enough. Only typing “Gemini” returned a result.

Learn how to disable it on Android.English18·3 months agoMy gf got one of those emails, but she doesnt have the Gemini app installed on her phone. All of the instruction articles I can find only explain how to turn it off if you have the app.
Does not having the app mean that she’s safe from this, or does it mean that she needs to download the app to disable the “feature”?

Still better than the way things currently are, though.
Could you share that please? If like to know more about how I’m killing myself to please others

anytimesoon@feddit.ukto Technology@lemmy.world•TikTok tells LA staff impacted by wildfires to use personal/sick hours if they can't work from homeEnglish354·9 months agoI think this is pretty standard for Chinese companies. My friend works for one, and she doesn’t get sick days. They must come out of her holiday allowance.
She gets treated better than her Chinese counterparts, though. For Chinese public holidays, they get the day off, but are then expected to give it back to the company at the weekend

I must admit that I can’t think of any examples of this ever being a problem though. It might also be because I’m just so used to crappy software breaking things that I’ve just come to accept it as normal

Can someone more intelligent please take the time to ELI5?
I think they’re trying to say that the amount of brownie is dictated by the amount of batter you have, and you can use one tray as many times as necessary to use up all the batter

Everyone calls themselves senior because that’s the only type of position recruiters look for.
I’m a mid level dev, but I’m encouraged by recruiters to apply for senior positions because their clients are actually looking for a range of levels
