I get this, OTOH what I do on vacation is different.
I rarely go for a swim, except when I’m on vacation. So, I don’t regularly use a bathing suit, but I want one in my suitcase if I’m going to the beach. Also, when you’re travelling, the kinds of things you eat are different, so you might have digestive issues you don’t have at home.
The hardest things to remember are the ones that are always just there when I’m at home: toothbrush, cell phone charger, etc.

😂 😘👌🏼
My motto is “Semper Paratis”
I can get by with minimal stuff, but I never travel without my Swiss Army knife
From repairing someone’s radiator while camping in New Zealand to fixing a broken suitcase in Japan, it has proved invaluable many times
TSA has confiscated so many swiss army knives from me. I always keep one in my pocket and feel almost naked without one. I don’t feel like my pocket knife is as big of a threat to a plane as my cellphone battery is.
It’s easier to take off a scuba suit if you don’t need it, than to put one on if you need it but don’t have one.

I stopped packing so much. Like the saying goes, “No matter where you go, there… 's a Walmart (or similar).”
no matter where you go, the money leaves you in mysterious ways all the same
I used to travel to NYC a lot for work, from Europe. I didn’t need to pack a suit. I usually packed a change of underwear and a t-shirt, and laptop etc in my cabin bag. I usually bought some jeans and a few clothes which were cheaper, like brand jeans, etc. Some toiletries (the small travel sizes) when not provided by the hotel. Then I would go to Canal and buy the cheapest bag for the return.
Don’t forget to pack your spare sousaphone!
Don’t forget your cup mute.
Depends. Are they single, double or triple horns?
Septuple.
Completely useless for blowing, but they intimidate lesser horns immensely.
Easier then having to deal with slide grease.
