      AKA “luncheon meat”. Pre-packaged thin slices of various meats (ham, turkey, chicken, bologna, etc). Usually with too much salt and preservatives.

      It’s similar to sliced meat from the deli (“deli meat”) but not as good. Both are mass-produced, but the pre-packaged stuff is more processed and not as “fresh”.

      (I’m probably going to regret trying to answer a food question in good faith on lemmy. Sigh.)

    When I was growing up I imagined a midnight snack as something vaguely coherent with at least a couple of ingredients

    Years later, I know and accept the truth, it’s just ham

    I used to get a slice of ham, put a chunk of pate in and then roll the ham up like rolling a tab and then wolf that down.
