I think little Timmy would notice a 60lb CRT behemoth in his little plastic pumpkin…
If my kid came home with a high quality triniton, I’d be so happy.
Someone dumped a CRT on the bike path I take to work, and I strongly considered strapping it on the back of my bike but a 60 lb TV is pushing the weight limit of my ebike and it seemed miserable to try to ride four miles with that thing.
We used to get even worse propaganda in the 80s.
One house would give out creationist pamphlets with comics about evolved monkeys and Christian bullshit.
The problem was they were in the same area as one of the full sized candy bar houses, and we could never remember which was which, so they got us multiple years.
Cathode ray tubes? Someone help out a non-American
I am an american and I came in to ask the same thing
It’s critical race theory.
What’s that mean?
It educates people on the existence of systemic racism.
It’s when schools teach that slavery was bad and had consequences. This upsets some people.
It’s a framework of analysis focused on systemic racism, especially in law. Despite it being a high level university course of study there was a panic a few years back that schools were teaching it to young children.
Thanks!
Critical race theory.
Ha, I just assumed it was an intentional typo for HRT
Yeah, the kid eats it and suddenly realizes there’s a 60 lb block of glass and high voltage electronics in his stomach. Real sick shit.
Don’t you know, the Golden Girls were woke!
CRT? Like the televisions? If so then yes please give me one ASAP.
Good luck fitting one of those in a fucking pillowcase
I’m glad pretty much every other comment interpreted CRT the way I did. Getting one of those from trick or treating would be the ultimate haul.
My Gamecube would love it.
Especially a Trinitron.
Cathode Ray Tubes?
Maybe in the early-to-mid 2000s; people couldn’t GIVE them away!
Nowadays, not even the most bougie neighbourhoods could afford to…
My wife made me get rid of my triple CRT setup in the mid 2000s. I was only able to sell one of them, for way less than it was worth IMO, the rest I found a place that took them for free eventually. It was shockingly hard to get rid of them.
I wish I still had one.
Dude, same (well - I only had one, but yeah).
I held off for as long as I could, but eventually went from a 15in Sony Trinitron monitor to a Dell W2405 - which at the time was actually not a bad decision, but I do wish I kept that CRT.
I went from 3 21" Trinitrons to a 20" BenQ as that was what I could afford at the time. It was a massive drop in screen resolution for me, but it did make my office so much less hot. Those CRTs were like space heaters.
The smallest ones do fit into some big candy wrappers
My mom caught some old man trying to universal healthcare in my treat bag. Damned creepy Bernie.

Holy shit, is this real?
It’s 2 gifs in one. Trump was near a bald eagle and got scared when it moved toward him.
in the other gif, bernie is trying to scare a hamburger
That eagle missed a chance to make an epic gif.
That’s funny
If somebody slips in the Epstein Files, then by all means.
That would be a big fucking piece of candy to fit a crt monitor
GIVE
I wouldn’t mind a CRT TV
You only get the bare tube
Liars! They keep promising cool stuff in Halloween candy, but all I ever get is candy!! >:(
Yeah where are all the drugs I was promised!
I remember my mom going through my candy looking for razor blades or whatever.
We also had to keep our animals inside because they might be stolen for satanic rituals.
Tbf, not as bad as getting raisins or a toothbrush.
A friend of mine lives in Vermont. He told me about a house that used to give our little black-and-white comics full of Republican-flavour Christian propaganda that were so bad he actually thought they were parody. But, yeah, fuck all that shit. If it doesn’t make your spit hurt, what’s the point?
Chick tracts!
I found a satanic trans-furry republican in my kids candy. It looked me in the eyes and said “eat a queer fetus for Jesus”
Thanks J’Biden
God damn Trinitrons. Get your own tree fiddy.
Or RAM.
