Yeah at most he could try for breach of contract if they broke their contract to leave. But if they already were no longer under contract or they could prove material cause to break the contract then there’s not much he can do.

I don’t know that “advertise on my platform or I’ll sue you” is going to work any better than “go fuck yourselves” when it comes to attracting advertising revenue to your website.
