I think it’s supposed to mean raise the quality of your argument. It’s ironically really poorly written.

It means to elevate your language, rather than just get loud. Raise as in rise above.
I feel like it wouls be better to substitute elevate into that whole phrase rather than raise.
But elevate and raise are synonymous, and the double entendre is kind of the whole point, here. I have no idea how it worked in the original Arabic, as this is a quote from medieval Sufi poet, Rumi. But I assume there was a similar clever play on words happening.

I wouldn’t yell, but do ask them to stop. They can lick so much they have raw skin and hurt themselves. And also sometimes the sound of licking will drive me batshit
Small dogs (in my experience, I have a 13+ year old small dog) will start to compulsively lick their paws, sometimes it’s neurological, sometimes it’s allergies. I have tried just about everything I could think of, socks, bitter spray, changing my floor cleaner, everything but getting her tested for allergies. She’s done it pretty much the entire time my family has had her, so I’ll feel real dumb if it turns out to be allergies, assuming my family didn’t test her before I had to start taking care of her
Side tangent, I didn’t know you could get at home allergy tests, are those any good?
